Our One-day Water Fitness Aqua Instructor course is designed for candidates who are already qualified instructors. They must hold a Level 2 in exercise to music, or gym instruction, or a level 2 in in Swimming instruction for attendance to upskill and attain the knowledge and competence to become a fully qualified and insured aquatic fitness instructor.
Level 2 Swimming Instructors will have to complete an additional manual of Anatomy and Physiology and principles of fitness prior to the course, this is at no extra cost, but must be covered to complete the criteria for their certification.
The certification is run as a one-day 9am until 5pm intensive course, and pre-course home learning modules ( takes to complete about 5-10 hours home study). There is both practical and theoretical multiple choose assessments for candidates as part of the certification.
Live face to face courses will consist of lecture content on all topics regarding and involving aquatic fitness, attendance of physical masterclasses both shallow and suspended or deep, deck skills and session design, and assessments both practical and theoretical.
The difference with online Zoom courses is the physical masterclass sessions are replaced with video masterclass breakdowns. Emphasis is put on the instructor to attend the pool for their own reference following the course, to feel the effects discussed.
When you successfully complete the course, your Aqua Instructor L2 Certificate need to be updates every two years, by attending CPD Update , or Workshop
Water Fitness Ltd can now facilitate a non-expiry certification for all learners as of March 2025.
If you hold a Water Fitness Level 2 Aqua Instructor Certification in deep and shallow water instruction. By attending and completing 3 CPD’s updates or workshops dated March 2025 or later, will remove the expiry date from your original certification. You will then be awarded a non-expiring certificate with lifetime cover.
All candidates will have 2 years cover to complete one CPD to keep their certificate valid as before. If they chose to only do one CPD every two years to keep their certificate valid it would take 6 years to achieve a non-expiry. When Candidate booked 3 CPD’s in the same year as passing their Aqua Instructor Level 2 they would also receive a non-expiry within that one year period.
Meaning there is a time frame for updates, and certifications can still become null and invalid should candidates choose not to do any aquatic personal development.
The alternative method and Water Fitness pathway to achieving a non-expiring certification is by attending a level 3 aquatic Personal Trainer and Active Recovery Therapy Certification. To attend this course your pre-requisites MUST be Level 3 qualification in personal training.
During this time as you build your confidence and class numbers you must attend one of our CPD masterclasses, or CPD workshops to keep your certification valid and insurable. It is down to each candidate to be responsible for keeping their own certification in date.
